Friends and Family,

I just wanted to start by saying thank you so much for your continued support of what God has called me to do.  I am so thankful to have such an incredible group of people who are willing to invest in this ministry He called me to work with and who are willing to pray for me and walk alongside me during this journey.  Your faithfulness has enabled Him to change lives throughout this country and even extending to Kenya, and it is such a beautiful thing to see His kingdom come together.  Thanks for being SUCH a big part of that!

Last summer was life-changing for me.  Interning with Daraja grew and stretched me in huge ways.  God really called me to step outside of my comfortable life and spend the summer pouring into 23 vulnerable, growing children from Kenya.  The ways in which they developed and grew into His love for him were incredible.  They are doing HUGE things for the kingdom back in Kenya, and definitely challenged every person they came in contact with in the US.  I love that God has given these children a story to share with the world.  I also love that He’s challenged them in their youth to lead by example, and even at 10 and 11 years old, they have grown into spiritual mentors and leaders for their friends and families at home along with many Americans.

THIS SUMMER, God has given me the incredible opportunity to intern again! I am so excited to see what He has in store for a new group of kids, a new team of interns, and the host homes He has already prepared us for.  The intern team has already started to come together and it has been amazing to see how God is already connecting our hearts in a way that glorifies Him.  This summer will be really different from last summer in that I am the only returning intern.  Even the tour leaders are new and have never traveled with Daraja before.  While I am nervous to step up and take such a big leadership role in setting the tone of Daraja Culture for the team, I have no doubt it is where God is calling me and I am excited to begin this journey.  Also, I am so excited because the kids from the 2011 choir are coming from Ngaamba! This is the community my church, St. Marks, partners with.  It will be incredible to be able to lead and mentor kids that will be going back to a community that is so closely connected to my home.  God’s handiwork is all over this summer already!

As my support system and people I feel God has chosen as role models and mentors in my life, I am coming to you to ask for your prayers.  I would love for you to consider praying this spring and throughout the summer about what God has in store.  I would love for you to pray for the new children and their families.  I would ask that you pray for God to prepare the parents’ hearts in giving them a peace about letting their kids travel to the US.  Also, I ask that you pray for the kids, that God would prepare them for the huge calling he’s placed on their lives.  I ask that you would pray for the interns and team as well, preparing our hearts to be leaders and mentors, and just allowing us to be ready for what He has called us to do this summer.

As many of you already know, I have to raise support to be able to travel with Daraja.  This year, I have to raise $3800 no later than APRIL 22 to be able to intern.  You all have been SO incredibly gracious with the resources He has given you in the past, and I am so thankful for that.  I ask that you would prayerfully consider partnering with me again this summer.  I think it’s really amazing that while God does not call everyone to go and do, He allows people to be a part by providing them with the resources to do so.  If you would like to give towards my trip, you can send a check in the included envelope (make sure you put MY NAME in the memo line or somewhere in the envelope!).  You can also give online at https://my410bridge.org/pledge/index/ragan.riddle.

Thanks so much for all you do and the ways in which you allow Him to lead in your life.  I am so thankful I have an incredible group of people to share this journey with!

In Him,

Ragan Riddle
